A referral from your doctor is not usually required to receive physiotherapy.

Some private insurance companies require a doctor's referral before providing extended health coverage. Each extended health provider is different so it is best to check your personal plan.

For WorkSafeBC claims, a doctor's referral is required in some specific cases. Speak with your WorkSafeBC case manager to determine if it is required for your claim.

At this time we do not make appointments online or by email.

To make an appointment at our Houston clinic please phone 250 845 5953.

Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first appointment to complete New Patient forms and payment.

The length of your appointment will depend on your injury and the type of treatment you require. The physiotherapist will determine how long your treatment needs to be to offer you the best rehabilitation.

Generally you should allow 40-60 minutes for your first appointment.

This varies from patient to patient depending on the scope of your injury.

At your first session your physiotherapist will assess your situation and discuss a treatment plan with you.

Your progress will depend on a variety of factors. Your physiotherapist will communicate with you along the way to make sure you are comfortable with the treatment plan.

  • Please bring you BC Care Card to your first appointment.
  • WorkSafeBC Patients - please bring your WorkSafeBC claim number, the date of Injury, Care Card, and your case manager’s name and contact number.
  • Payment for your appointment. At this time we can take payment in cash or cheque or eTransfer.
  • If you are being treated for a  back, hip, knee, ankle or foot problem please wear, or bring with you, comfortable shorts.
  • A sports bra or tank top if you are being treated for a upper body problem.
  • If you have a leg or foot injury related to a sport it may be helpful for you to bring the shoes (including orthotics) you use to participate in that sport.

Most health plans cover some physiotherapy treatments. Each extended health provider is different so it is best to check your personal plan.

We will provide you with a receipt, and any supporting information you require, for you to submit to your provider.

We do not do direct billing for extended health benefits.
